Berlin is poor but sexy

This isn't a great picture, but you get the idea of my sleeping compartment on the train from Budapest to Berlin (about a 12-hour ride). What you can't see are the straps to make sure you don't roll off while you're sleeping...

One of my first meals after arriving: "currywurst", a sausage with a strange curry sauce. If you're thinking "that sounds disgusting"...you're right!

The symbol of Berlin. Pre-CN Tower and much cooler. The East Berlin government built it in the 60s to show that a society could be successful and advanced even under Communism.....except they had to import Swedish engineers to do it.

Also very cool: you've heard of a handlebar mustache. How about a handlebar BEARD?!

Berliners are unquestionably very, very cool.
